Maybe you could give me your theory on how “social justice” addresses sin? Isn’t sin the ultimate cause of pain?
Hi my friend:
Start with my summary of CSLewis The Problem of Pain http://jmm.org.au/articles/1879.htm
Then look at this article on suffering http://jmm.org.au/articles/4810.htm
And this one: How to Know the Lord – http://jmm.org.au/articles/579.htm
Pharisees ancient and modern / Fundamentalists/conservatives begin ‘The Gospel’ with ‘The Fact of Sin’
Jesus begins with “I do not condemn you”; the Great Commandment doesn’t mention sin; John 3:16 doesn’t begin there either…
Orthodox Christians (like you and me) believe in the love of God and the fact of sin – in that order, not the reverse order…
Of course some specific sins (you know Jesus’ answer to this re the blind man) are caused by sin, some aren’t; probably in a cosmic sense disorder everywhere is somehow a concomitant of creation’s fallenness (a la Paul).
