I Couldn’t See Where I Was Going

I took the wrong path. I made wrong choices And listened at times, to all the wrong voices I was ever so stubborn, had to do it my way And wondered why later I had to pay

My mind overpowered what my spirit would say I’d too many daydreams that got in the way I wanted money and things that don’t last Because of the poverty I’d know in the past

I got lost in the world. frightened, not knowing I couldn’t see where I was going Then into my life you came with a fire And awakened my spirit and changed my desire

Money means nothing if you’re empty inside And you’re filled with vanity and too much pride But pure love, now on that, you cannot put a price For that I’d sell all and not think twice

Thank you for loving me just as I am And giving me confidence to change my plan To go through my life loving all those around me As you have loved me, may you always surround me
