From an informed netfriend:
In fairness to Islam, it’s not just Muslims that are persecuting and discriminating against Christians:
In Sri Lanka, Buddhists are persecuting Christians. In India, Tamil Nadu State has recently pased an ordinance banning religious conversion, due to Hindu pressure. In Mexico, evangelicals are being persecuted by syncretists. In Belarus, evangelicals face repressive new laws that favour the Orthodox Church.
In Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, Christian minorities – usually ‘hill tribes’ – have faced various levels of persecution, [even ethnic cleansing, in the case of the Hmong.]
North Korea …. and China continue to persecute and imprison Christians. In the case of China, Buddhist Tibetans and Muslim Uigars also face persecution. Falun Gong publicises persecution of its members more openly.
The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church was/is yesterday and next Sunday, 17th November!!
