‘…My trip to Nagaland was memorable. To be driving in some of the most remote parts of the world near the Burmese border and then turn a corner and see a Baptist Church bigger than Collins Street Baptist Church, perched on a hill, was stunning and incredible. In the village where I stayed over night, that had a population of 1,600 people, over 1,000 turned up at 6.00am the following morning to hear me preach. The elders had said that there would just be a few who would come for devotions…

..however, not all is idyllic in this ‘Garden of Eden’. Though there is a cease fire in place now, there has been 52 years of war with the Indian Government as they have fought for their independence. The three underground armed factions hiding in the jungles have as their slogan ‘Nagaland for Christ’. Unbelievably they will pray and fast for most of the night, before doing an ambush to destroy an Indian convoy…’
