Greek Orthodox asked to pray with other Christians in Jerusalem

Jerusalem (ENI). Christian leaders in Jerusalem are calling on the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate to lift its ban on reciting prayers with other churches. Sweden’s new Baptist leader wants to promote equality in the church

Stockholm (ENI). Karin Wiborn, newly appointed general secretary of the Baptist Union of Sweden, and the only woman in Scandinavia to be a denominational leader, believes that feminism has a role to play in the church. “I am not a feminist of strident kind, but I want to strive for equality on all fronts,” Wiborn said after taking up her position in January, noting that her vision includes equality for people from different cultures and of different ages. Philippine bishops draft guidelines on clergy who commit sex offences

Manila (ENI). The Philippines’ Roman Catholic Church has said it is finalising formal guidelines for dealing with allegations of sex offences by clerics amid a scandal that has buffeted the church in the South-East Asian nation. “We have finished the document [protocol on offences] but we need feedback from the dioceses before we approve it in July,” Cardinal Ricardo Vidal told journalists.
