Christians in Kazakhstan fear loss of religious freedom. Kazakhstan (MNN) — We begin today in Kazakhstan, where Christians are wondering about religious freedom in that mostly Muslim nation. Bible Mission International’s Mark Reimschisel is there now and says there’s a rumor that the government is toying with the idea restricting it. Reimschisel says prayer is needed. “There (are) just tremendous opportunities for the Gospel and at the same time there’s oppression. There are whispers of a new law on religious limitations, where they would like to restrict the activities of evangelicals.” In the meantime, Reimschisel says they’re focusing on one segment of society that’s been somewhat ignored. “The youth are largely untouched. What we’re proposing is to come in an take 30 of the key youth leaders, get them involved in the discipleship, mentoring program where they’re working right along with these frontline pioneer church planters.” Funding is needed to help train these leaders. Bibles are being printed and distributed in Vietnam Vietnam (MNN) — Meanwhile, a Bible translation organization says they will be able to publish and distribute God’s word in Vietnam. Richard Loh

is with the World Bible Translation Center[2] “This indeed is a significant milestone for World Bible Translation Center and the church in Vietnam, because Vietnam is a communist country. It has very restrictive policies on Bible printing and distribution. So, for us to be granted this approval it is definitely a step forward for Christians.” According to Loh they will be printing about 20-thousand New Testaments. Loh says it’ll be released in two or three months. He says this new translation is written in the every day language of the Vietnamese people. “So, it will be very, very suitable for new believers. For the first time in nearly a year, supplies are flown in to help missionaries in a city in the Democratic Republic of Congo. For the first time in nearly a year, a plane has landed in Kama, Democratic Republic of Congo. Grace Ministries International is praising God for the place because it delivered one-thousand pounds of medicines and supplies for Grace Missionary Sam Vinton, Senior. This shipment was immediately followed by another two-thousand pound shipment of supplies. These supplies are desperately needed for ministry as more than 10-thousand people are displaced because of the violence. Funding is needed to help these people. Bible narration is being used to share the Gospel in an East African nation. E. Africa (MNN) — Next, Bible narration is a tool being used to lead people to Christ in an East African country. An American missionary working there with the EFCA International Missions[4] . He’ll remain nameless for security reasons, says he’s living in an area where the people learn orally. “In an oral tradition culture, people get their new input from narrations and stories. And so, the way we communicate with them important truths, particularly the Gospel, is we narrate God’s word to them. And, it’s a way that they can understand it and actually repeat it to others. It’s quite exciting.” The EFCA International Missions is using friendships to open doors to share God’s word there. “We get to know people, establish a relationship with them, and then there comes a time when I would ask the head of the house, ‘would you be interested in hearing what God’s word has to say about Abraham, Moses and David,’ and because in their religion they’ve heard of these names before they most often respond with yes.” One church has already been established, and a narration group has been formed across town. Thousands will remember an American tragedy. USA (MNN) — And, thousands in the United States will pay special tribute to their heroes tomorrow during nine-11 remembrance services being coordinated by the Mission America Coalition. Mission America’s Glen Barth says more than 80-thousand people made professions of faith during similar ceremonies last year. More than 60 denominations and ministries such as Campus Crusade for Christ and the International Bible Society are endorsing the events. Pray that many seeds of the Gospel will be planted.
