Threats of Violence isn’t stopping audio scripture distribtion in India. India (MNN) — India headlines today’s news as threats of violence continues in that mostly Hindu nation. Tom Dudenhofer with Audio Scripture Ministries[1] of Holland, Michigan says their staff has been safe, but… “One of our workers was threatened with having his children kidnapped, but none of that has taken place. So, the believers tell us that they just have to be careful. There are some areas where they really can’t come out and make any sort of a public scene about their faith in Jesus Christ. But, they still are able to supply the tapes.” So, Dudenhofer says they’re continuing their new emphasis on providing a scripture players and tapes to non-reading Indian families. “Our partners in India say that, typically, when one of these kits is distributed to a family that, in a period, of about six months, it’s not uncommon for about eight people to make a very solid decision about Jesus Christ.” 25-thousand families are being targeted over the next five years, at a cost of 50-dollars per family. Women help women in persecuted church. International (MNN)–Women outnumber men by a large percentage in the persecuted church. Jane Huckaby is director for ‘Women of the Way’, a ministry of Open Doors USA[5] . “In countries such as Sudan, Indonesia, China, Pakistan, and Egypt, women are belittled, they are abused, they are sometimes treated like property.” That sentiment sets the stage for the ministry of ‘Women of the Way’. Huckaby explains their group helps women see they are not without hope. She adds the womens’ stories are poignant because they reveal the depth of struggle. “If you are a Christian, and you are a woman, you are the lowest of the low. So, these women do not know that they are vital to their communities, they do not recognize that they are vital to the church and what ‘Women of the Way’ wants to do is to reach out to them, and strengthen them, and let them know how valued they are by Jesus Christ.” Full Story: http://mnn.gospelcom.net/article/5116
