From friends who operate a prayer ministry:
We have found that the vast majority of people coming for prayer ministry have links with freemasonry through their family. These are Christians and the oaths made by the freemason even several generations back have had a powerful effect on the person coming for prayer and their family members.
One Christian lady received prayer, renouncing and cancelling the effects of freemasonry in her family and within a fortnight her mother no longer had Altzheimers, her brother who had dyslexia could read and another sister suffering mental problems got well.
John Ankerberg and John Weldon’s “The facts on the masonic lodge: does masonry conflict with the Christian faith?” Eugene, Oregon: Harvest House Publishers, 1989 (The Anker Series) is a useful little book.
It takes the teaching of masonic literature confirmed by masons and former masons and examines the rituals as they conflict with Christian belief.
Whilst most people who become masons do so for social and family reasons they come under a great deception. This certainly affects the many Christians for whom we have prayed, hindering their Christian lives in many ways. At the first degree level which is as far as many masons get, they call upon themselves and their families terrible curses. At the top level there is worship of Lucifer. The truth is only revealed to a small percentage of members who choose to really seriously advance to the top. It involves dedication to Satan through worship and allegiance to Lucifer, phallus worship, Egyptian god worship and paedophilia. As Robert mentions those involved in prayer ministry all agree that freemasonry curses those who are involved. From our course notes:
Why a Christian Can Not Be a Freemason – “You shall have no other gods before me”, Exodus 20:3; Deuteronomy 6:14,15. – Oaths – anything beyond “Yes” and “No” comes from the evil one. Matthew 5 :33-37. – Counterfeit light – Jesus says, “I am the true light”, Luke 12:2,3; John 1:4-9;12:45. – Secrets to initiated few – Jesus’ command to tell the world, Matthew 28:19,20; Acts 1:8. – Salvation by good works – it is by grace, a gift of God, through faith, Ephesians 2:8-9. – Denying Jesus – we honour God by honouring Jesus, John 5:33;15:26; Philippians 2:9-11. – Knowing God through revelation – knowing God through Jesus alone, John 14:6. – Accepting other gods and sacred writings as equal to the Lord God Almighty and His eternal word, the Bible – blasphemy, idolatry, Psalm 29; Psalm 119:89-91; Isaiah 40:25,26.
From their history it can be seen that freemasonry started as a good idea as a guild for masons building the great cathedrals of Europe in the Middle Ages. They originated the idea of the friendly society, from which we get our health funds today. But it was later hijacked by the Rosicrucians who brought in a distinctly occult element.
http://religiousmovements.lib.virginia.edu/nrms/Masons.html is a useful resource page to start from. It also has a section on Rosicrucians.
A much more radical source of information is at http://www.cuttingedge.org/fmcorner.html. There is an interesting radio program transcript at http://www.cuttingedge.org/ce1009.html.
But put ‘freemasonry’ into Google and you will find a wealth of info. In particular you will find hundreds of pro masonry sites. The masons have a huge sanitisation and self-promotion move underway.
