(From a friend on alt.christnet.christianlife):
For those who may not be experienced Googlers, here is how you do it.
Go to. http://www.google.com or click this link http://www.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en
click on “groups”
click on “advanced groups search”
now you will see several “fields” to type in what you are looking for. the two i usually use are “all the words” and “exact phrase.” Type in the words you want to find.
Next is “newsgroup” “subject” “author” or “message ID”
in “newsgroup you would type “alt.christnet.christianlife” (or another group name) (or none if you mean “any’)
In “subject” type the subject if you have it. you can use either “exact phrase” or “subject” or both.
in “Author” you type the name of the person you think posted what you are looking for.
NOw you come to date range, or “when” do you think the message was posted?
you can select from the pull down menu or input the dates. since “1 month” does not go back to Jan 9 and “3 months” goes back too far, I would just enter the date “from Jan 8 to Jan 10”
For a search of what V*** (or owd, or Jeannette) posted on Jan 9 we would not put in any words or phrase, and no subject because we want them all.
in “number of returns” we will need at least 100
click “search”
Try it, you’ll learn how easy it is. (And informative too.) 🙂
Those who love Truth search for it, those who hate Truth, lie.
google is your friend.
