Whatever her story is, let me suggest the most wonderful words anyone who believes they’ve committed the ‘unpardonable sin / sin against the Holy Spirit’ can hear:

‘If it concerns you – even a little bit – God’s grace is such that you haven’t committed that sin. Even though the prodigal said “I am not worthy!” that was not an objective view of reality from the father’s perspective.’
