Leadership

Effective change in the Church

“Lawrence Meckan” wrote in message

  1. The same things that apply to corporate leadership should apply to Churches:
  2. Transparency of leadership and leadership structure, including when the leadership get it wrong.
  3. Community within the group, including allowing voices of dissent.
  4. Ownership of the community by all people
  5. The ability for the leadership structure to let go of it’s authority to help others outside the structure grow and mature (otherwise it kills off the ability for the community to minister to itself, only the “leaders” get sanctioned to do it)
  6. Accountability between everyone
  7. The ability to be creative / inspirational, and application of that  creativity inside and outside the leadership structure to help people mature in Christ. And last, but most importantly,
  8. Love for one another, displayed in respect, integrity and community  support.

I believe without these things, Church will always be held as something that the “pastors” do, not something each and every follower of Christ  should do.
