A matter worthy of prayers from our churches this week:

By the way, just thought i’d mention here since the papers aren’t covering it at all (makes me wonder, since there was such an outcry when the taliban destroyed those statues of the buddha)– three weeks ago the moslem albanians destroyed no fewer than **30** of Serbia’s most important and oldest churches and monasteries within a few days. See http://www.serbia.sr.gov.yu/news/2004-03/23/333663.html for info. Kosovo by the way is the Serbian homeland, the sacred roots. These are not modern churches built by recent squatters. Most of them are from the 14th century and go back to the very beginnings of “Serbia”. Imagine someone destroying Notre Dame and half the other cathedrals of France, and you get the picture of what has happened in the past month. And for some reason, our newspapers don’t seem to be interested in reporting it. Maybe you would also consider emailing your congresspeople or other government officials? I hope you will all keep the very much suffering Christian people of that land in your prayers this week.
