Such a crazy year

saw his image in a storefront glass shoulders braced against the cold

– time was that he hardly knew the difference between growing up and growing old

and he’s thinking it’s funny how time can cure you of all the childish

notions that charmed you heart and soul…

sometimes he grows weary at the process of growing up and growing old…

sixty nine was such a crazy year – he lost his brother to the war –

sometimes he just lies awake and wonders what the devil was it for

and it’s funny how pain can touch you –

it can either makes you better or it robs you heart and soul

all in all it defines the seperation between growing up and growing old…

it’s funny how life can fool you it looks in the movies ’til you try to play the role truth is that it costs to find the difference between

growing up and growing old

truth is that it costs to find the difference between growing up and growing old.

[music crossfades into next track – the horns begin playing]

Christ alone will wear the crown,

worn by many others,

when will mankind lay it down

join our hearts as brothers…

Christ alone will wear the crown

soldiers fighting bloody wars it’s death in open season

frightened boys on forieign shores trying to find a reason

what is all the fighting for surely there’s a reason

we live to even up the score tension’s like a cancer

it’s a lie we’ve heard time and again

that if we’re strong enough we’re bound to win

who will dare discuss what our past has made so obvious

Christ alone will wear the crown,

worn by many others,

when will mankind lay it down

join our hearts as brothers…

Christ alone will wear the crown

it’s a lie we’ve heard time and again

that if we’re strong enough we’re bound to win
