May I suggest a site which could help Gladys, even though it could lead to a massive “information overload” ?
If you want reliable technical information about all sorts of aspects of teh evolution vs creationism argument, try http://www.talkorigins.org
You could start with the FAQs about religion and evolution and go on from there. It has links to a number of other sites, and, unlike creationist sites which refuse to prtovide links to accurate science sites, this one contains links to assorted creationist sites for people to check that creationists really do say some of the silly things they are accused of.
I first got involved in an argument with a creationist nearly 40 years ago. Creationist have now abandoned virtually all the arguments they used in those days – not modified, simply stopped using them after they were repeatedly shown to be stupid and erroneous. Scientists, on the other hand, haven’t changed their basic ideas which were firmly established then, and are even more firmly established now. The last major change in science was the development of plate tectonics in the early 1960s. Abd creationist have, grudgingly, accepted that the continents *are* moving with respect to each other.
