Max Borisoff, passed away Thursday morning July 29, 2004. Pastor General of the First Evangelical Church of Christ, he and his wife Kathleen reached out to our generation of the sixties and seventies to bring us back into the sheepfold of the Lord. With his wife, Max served the Lord in ministry for 34 years. In 1983, Max and me(Denise Lenore) developed with the help of friends like Tom Hawkins, Martin Blackwell, and Valerie Kramer to establish Christ Corner BBS. Open 24 hours a day, it became the first Christian Bulletin Board Service in Los Angeles. Eventually, with more help from our friends like Larry Pearson, Max and I were able to use our Bulletin Board as the Hub for small Christian bulletin boards throughout the United States, allowing users to be able to converse with Christians through out the US by using a local phone number. In 1992, Alt.Christnet. org newsgroups were created but under heavy attack and frequent crashes from those attack, Christnet.org newsgroups decided to become moderated. A true miracle occurred in the midst of international attacks Mike Scheidel was able to get our newsgroups up and running on the Internet. In 1993, Max with help from Dan and Cindy Busarow built the Christnet.org web page. Max and I moderated the groups for many years with help from Cherith and Deac. This past week, prior to Max’s death, I decided to submit our group for inclusion in Mark Morley’s Christian.net. I prayed and feel confident that this move will expand the ministry of these newsgroups. I have been honored and privileged to serve these 20+ years as Max’s Associate Minister and know that Christnet.org will be in good hands. We will have prayers for Max Borisoff at Hollywood Forever Cemetary Chapel, 6000 Santa Monica Blvd. Hollywood CA on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be held the following day, Wednesday, August 4, 2PM in the same Chapel. Please keep these newsgroups and the family and friends of Max Borisoff in your prayers. Thank you for the privilege of serving this ministry.
Denise Lenore, Assoc. Minister
