Witchcraft To Be Legal

It is likely that the Victorian government will repeal a 1966 law that bans sorcery and the occult. Religious leaders and academics are said to be worried that this will send the wrong message to vulnerable teenagers. The Reverend Monsignor Peter J. Elliot, the Catholic Archdiocese’s episcopal vicar for religious education, was quoted as saying when commenting on the matter… “I would be appalled if this (change of legislation) implies some sort of approval of this (witchcraft). I think it reflects the collapse of values and sanity in our society…” “It’s not harmless, and there is no such thing as white magic.”

Personally I don’t think that I have ever seen or heard our present day social order described more succinctly than by the phrase ‘a collapse of values and sanity’.
