WALKING HAND IN HAND WITH GOD.
When we place our hand – and we must take the initiative in this – into the strong and loving hand of Jesus, who is God’s Son, we will find that we have a most wonderful Guide to help us and show us how to live. At any time of day, we can stop, and listen to the still voice within our heart. As we become increasingly aware of the constant presence of the Divine within, we learn to listen more and more, and to trust those nudges that fall into our minds, telling us the way to go. I call them God-ideas, or God-thoughts, because I often have a sense of something simply dropping out of the air and into my consciousness. I know that it wasn’t my idea. Often it comes straight out of ‘left-field’, and surprises me. That is how God often directs us to the right action to take and we then have the ability to make wise decisions. We know, too that is wasn’t our idea, and so we know it has come from Above. This enables us to move ahead with a deep down confidence that we are making the right choice.
Yes, I still ‘stuff up’. I still forget to listen to that Voice. I still go off and make my own choices. But I am learning that if I make the time to listen to God, then I DO make much better choices than on my own. That is because thay are the best choices – they are true Wisdom.
God has a wonderful plan for your life, and mine. In the Bible it states, “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. (Jeremiah 29:11).
Because we know that God, who is all Love, has such great plans for us, it takes a lot of the stress out of living. We have a Guide who is much better than anything else. He is ALWAYS on our side!! What a confidence booster! So as we link hands with God, we have company on our life journey. God becomes our best companion – our inner companion.
There are some wonderful affirmations about God as our guide at the website Unity in One. You can find it here: http://www.unityinone.com. Enjoy traveling today, hand in hand with Jesus.
