A fellow decided to decorate his bedroom. He wasn’t sure how many rolls of wallpaper he would need but he knew that the Irishman who lived next door had recently done the same job and the two rooms were identical in size.
“Murphy,” he asked, “How many rolls of wallpaper did you buy for your bedroom?”
“Ten” said Murphy.
So the fellow bought the ten rolls of paper and did the job. It looked wonderful, but he had 2 rolls of wallpaper left over.
“Murphy,” he said. “I bought ten rolls of wallpaper for the bedroom, but I’ve got 2 left over!”
“Dat’s funny,” said Murphy. “So did I.”

There was a poor old Irish cobbler whose shop was next door to a very upscale French restaurant.
Every day at lunch time, Mike, the Irish gent, would go out the back of his shop and eat his soda bread and maybe a kipper or piece of Irish blue cheese while smelling the wonderful odors coming from the restaurant’s kitchen.
One morning, the old mick was surprised to receive an invoice in the mail from the adjoining restaurant for “enjoyment of food”
Mystified, he marched right over to the restaurant to point out that he had not bought a thing from them.
The manager said, “You’re enjoying our food, so you should pay us for it.”
Mick refused to pay and the restaurant took him to court.
At the hearing, the judge asked the restaurant to present their side of the case. The manager said, “Every day, this man comes and sits outside our kitchen and smells our food while eating his. It is clear that we are providing added value to his poor food and we deserve to be compensated for it.”
The judge turned to Mike and said, “What do you have to say to that?” The old Irish gent didn’t say a thing but smiled and stuck his hand in his pocket and rattled the few coins he had inside.
The judge asked him, “What is the meaning of that?”
The old gent replied with a mile wide grin, – “I’m paying for the smell of his food with the sound of my money.”

Two guys in a car drive right through a red light. “Man, you just ran that red light!” exclaimed the passenger.
“Don’t worry, my brother does it all the time,” said the driver.
They continue driving through town and then proceed to drive through another stop light.
“You just ran another stop light! You’re going to get us killed!” screamed the nervous passenger.
“Don’t worry, my brother does it all the time,” repeated the driver.
Moments later, they approached a green light and they came to a halting stop.
“Why are you stopping?” asked the anxious passenger.
The driver turned and said, “Because my brother might be coming!”

RAMBLINGS OF A RETIRED MIND
I was thinking about how a status symbol of today is those cell phones that everyone has clipped on. I can’t afford one. So, I’m wearing my garage door opener.
Employment application blanks always ask ‘who is to be notified in case of an emergency.’ I think you should write, “A Good Doctor!”
You know, I spent a fortune on deodorant before I realized that people didn’t like me anyway.
I have gotten that dreaded furniture disease. That’s when your chest is falling into your drawers!
I know, when people see a cat’s litter box, they always say, “Oh, have you got a cat?” Just once I want to say, “No, it’s for company!”
