As many will know, last year all major medical organisations in Australia and New Zealand issued a joint statement emphatically asserting that there were no medical indications for routine male circumcision. Now a prominent American Catholic theologian, Fr John Dietzen, has issued a paper describing the routine practice of male circumcision as immoral.

It seems that while those who practice the female equivalent face up to seven years gaol in some States, those who carry out the male equivalent still do so with impunity.
