What a heretic is Rowland, spreading lies on ACE,

If you listen to his teaching, your poor soul will atrophy.

He pretends to be a Chrsitian, but I’m here to call his bluff;

I am sure you’ll find some error, if you just look hard enough.

Does he teach the Bible is from God Himself to guide our way?

Yes, okay he says it but he doesn’t mean it anyway.

Just look at his view of God now, then you’ll surely want to flee,

Oh, I guess that’s not it either – Rowland preaches Trinity.

So what’s wrong with Dr. Croucher, whence the animosity?

I can’t for the life of me find find heterodoxy [a bit of a clumsy rhyme but so good I had to keep it] <==pomo moment

But I’ll have to keep on searching, I will lay deception bare

I know Croucher teaches error, ’cause the Griz Cult says it’s there.

Hi BF

Sorry I missed this: you mustn’t have grandchildren living at your place, and therefore have more time for creativity!

Now to answer your basic question: my theology is basically evangelical/orthodox, so the basic problem’s not there. I can say the classical Christian creeds without my fingers crossed (as C S Lewis said). (Mark can’t, so for this and other reasons he perhaps wisely avoids church services 🙂

More specifically, I hope I’m mostly not a Pharisee/fundamentalist. (You know the old axiom about having less patience with the one denying half your creed, than with another who denies the whole of it?)

It is a matter mainly psychological: I believe in treating people as adults rather than two-year-olds-of-all-ages, and offering opposing points of view so that they can think their way through to a mature faith. That’s an aweful threat to people who prefer to be stuck ideologically/doctrinally where they were/are, eh? And you’ll notice if you’re tuned in, that ‘concrete thinkers’ resort to culumny when they’re short on evidence/ideas…

And there are other dimensions as well, but we’ll leave it there

Stay creative!

Rowland. (November 2004)
