Being a specially chosen race by God in days of old perhaps.

Having the oracles of God committed to thier care as well.

Agnst between Christianity and Judaism, often to the point of bloodshed.

Jewish idea of seperateness and ghetto mentality/Christian idea of seperating the Jewish people and ghettoising them.

Major interpretational differences over the Holy Scriptures regarding Christ or not.

Jewish use of financing/banking/self sufficiency (usury was seen by medieval/ancient Christianity as sinful).

These are some of the reasons that have assisted in the matter under question.
