KIDNAPPED CONVERT ESCAPES
Prayers have been answered for the safety of a convert from Tanzania who was kidnapped by his extended family. Barnabas Fund has received news yesterday that he has been able to escape their captivity.
The young Swahili man, ‘E’, was kidnapped by his uncles on Friday 13th May. Though they kept him incommunicado, E managed to make a phone call for help on Sunday 15th. With help from friends he has been able to escape their custody, and is now safe. As reported on Tuesday [a] since converting from Islam to Christianity only a few months ago, E had been open in sharing his new faith with his community in Kilwa, Tanzania, for which his family had already driven him out of his home. Now in a safe location E is facing decisions about his future.
PRAYER ITEMS
* Praise God for this swift answer to prayer.
* Pray for E as he contemplates his future, for the decisions he must make. Continue to pray also for his family, that E’s witness will impact their lives.
* Continue to pray for the safety and release of N, a Kashmiri convert from Islam to Christianity also kidnapped. [a]
