I am just reading the Mitford series of stories about an Episcopal Minister set in a village in the mountains of North Carolina. There are nine volumes written by Jan Koran. A marvellous yarn of pastoral ministry with a local flavour – a loooong way from Willow Creek and Saddleback!

The author has captured local ministry in wonderfully fictional way but filled with reality.
