From a friend:
Would you mind explaining your counselling motto, “It’s never too late to have a happy childhood”? From what I have read and heard of some of your stuff I seem to hear that you are saying, adult wholeness / happiness is experienced to the degree that childhood damage is addressed /healed. Can’t seem to find anything specific on JMM site to read up on it – maybe not looking in right place.
My response:
== What that means is that Jesus’ key to spiritual wholeness – being like a child – is the key to healing past hurts as well. So I let the child in the adult I’m counselling cry, skip, feel real feelings, one person jumped off a picnic seat into ‘Daddy’s’ (my) arms, and in sexual relations be unhibited… in short not take life too seriously…
== I don’t know of any articles on this but there are some good books: look up ‘Inner Child’ on Google and you’ll find lots of stuff (eg. http://www.creativegrowth.com/johnbio.htm )
