Getting out of the chair after having his hair cut, the customer said to his barber: “That kid sitting over there lives next door to me, and he’d have to be the dumbest kid in town. He’s got no sense about money. I’ll show you what I mean.”
Holding a ten-dollar note in one hand and a two-dollar coin in the other, he called the kid over and said: “Take whichever one you want, son.”
The kid reached out, took the coin, thanked him and went back to his seat.
“What did I tell you?” said the customer. “He does that every time. He’ll never learn!” and he left the shop.
So as the barber later clipped the drop-sheet around the kid’s neck, he asked him: “Don’t you know that ten dollars is worth a lot more than two dollars?”
The kid replied, “You bet I do, mister, but the day I take the ten dollars, it’s game over!”

Enjoy this or tag it to your offering intro, especially if you’re a King James Version fan, as it says in Proverbs 13:11 “Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished, but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.” Or as Thomas Edison is reported to have said: “Everything comes to he who hustles while he waits.”
