Good praise music

[1] A good song has a good marriage between content and vehicle and is performed with technical excellence. [2] How does one balance content with the ambiance/theatre of the occasion? I.e. letting the head rule over emotions. “What am I to do? … I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also. ” (1Co 14:15)

[3] Exactly! The best Christian musicians have a marriage of spirit and mind. I witnessed it at the U2 concert last Monday. It was a rock concert / church service. If church half resembled their balance then I would attend daily. It included the content of a protestant service, the icons and symbols of an orthodox servive and the utter passion of pagans. It was also inclusive of gender, race and status.
