Rowland asks:
Where are the committed contemporary poets who are in love with Jesus who can write hymns/ songs which do not insult our musical or literary intelligence?
One pastor’s response:
I’d put in a word for Robin Mann.
Although he’s been around for a while, he hasn’t stayed put. These spring to mind:
“Just like Jesus” – the song he wrote as a response to the “Piss Christ” exhibition some years back.
The credal “God Version 1.0” (largely declaring what God I *don’t* believe in, but always ending in a positive).
I also know that I’ve been disconnected from much of what younger people are relating to. Singability is always a challenge.
