From a friend:
It is strongly anti the war, and so pro-war folk will no doubt question its sources and accuracy, (which they are more than entitled to do – just as they should with pro-war information, statistics and data). The original is also quite lengthy, so I have just cut and pasted a few paragraphs here if they might be of interest to you.

The (Good and Bad) Middle East War News
1. There are currently estimated to be 8000 US soldiers absent without leave. (antiwar.com 28.2)
2. Attacks upon occupation troops in Iraq in January 07 averaged 180 per day almost double for the same period the previous year. (ICH 1/3)
3. A panel of experts convened by Rolling Stone agree that the Iraq war is lost. The only disagreement is on how bad the effects of the continuing occupation will be. ICH 11/3
4. Four years ago the Murdoch press was amongst the most powerful supporters of the invasion of Iraq. Their columns were full of all the lies about ³weapons of mass destruction ² and they repeated without question the propaganda emanating from Canberra. Without the strong support of The Australian it is arguable that Australia would not now be involved in the Iraq occupation. Likewise around the globe all of Murdoch’s 175 newspapers were editorially pro-war with one exception – The Hobart Mercury – which soon fell into line. It is unlikely that Murdoch will be punished for the deaths he has helped cause in Iraq other than financially. As one commentator recently suggested The Herald Sun is only useful for those of us that still possess an outhouse ¹.
