I have a paper punch in front of me on my computer table. Except for the plastic cover on the base for catching the cut pieces of paper if any other part is taken away it would not act as a punch. That is irreducible complexity in its simplest form.

You should be very careful about saying that if any part is taken away the device will no longer work.

Michael Behe made just that claim about mousetraps. Various scientists took him up, and managed to reduce the number of parts and still have a working device. I’ll see if I can dig out a citation for where their work was reported.

The ID scientists are saying there had to be a Intelligent Being (Designer) to create initially without naming that designer as God Almighty of the Biblical scriptures.

And that is exactly their major unsolved problem. Scientists simply won’t accept a solution involving some entity about which the ID people refuse to be more specific. At least the Raelians, who also reject evolution and say that life shows evidence of design, claim that the designers – yes, there was more than one of them – were extr-terrestrial beings who travelled here by what we label UFOs.

This, at least, is open to scientific investigation, even though scientists almost unanimously want a lot more evidence for the existence of UFOs before they are prepared to spend time and effort investigating that claim.
