The baby Jesus statue is stolen so often from nativity scenes in Wellington, Fla., many of the figurines have been outfitted with GPS tracking devices to expedite recovery efforts. “I think it’s because Jesus is small enough to take,” said the town’s Director of Operations, John Bonde. “Everything else is too big.” Last year, an 18-year-old woman took the town’s ceramic figurine, but an internal tracking device led sheriff’s deputies right to her door. She was originally charged with a felony, but the town agreed to reduce the charges so she could join the Marines. (Palm Beach Post)
