Cornel West has said we must “keep [Obama] accountable in a self-critical not self-righteous ways.” This link is an attempt of one of the Bonhoeffer 4 to do just that while in the midst of silence about Obama’s war budget exceeds that of Bush’s.

It was easy for many to be against Bush’s war[s], maybe even “cool”, but the test of character will be if we like Martin Luther King can make a stand against a war with popular support because we have heard a better story. A new imagination is needed. New courage. May we this Christmas not only find this, but joy in the incarnation.
As some of us preparing to play supporting roles in nonviolent direct actions this weekend, all of the Bon 4 team, wish you and your community a Merry Christmas. And we join you in seeking the advent of “peace on earth” not just with our lips in carols but with our lives in wonder, worship and nonviolent witness.
Grace and peace, Jarrod Saul McKenna
