From a pastor-friend:
I can remember being quite moved by Tom Wright’s description of the Tree of Life sculpture in the entrance foyer of the British Museum. It is made out of decommissioned guns and weapons from the Mozambique civil war. It turns weapons (swords) into ploughshares in a powerful and beautiful way. I’ve used it here in our church as a metaphor for explaining the Gospel.
Tom Wright refers to it in this article and photos of it can be easily found by looking for the Tree of Life on the British Museum website: http://www.spu.edu/depts/uc/Response/summer2k5/features/imagination.asp
