Below is a link where you can enter your phone numbers online to put an end to telemarketing calls. Don’t just delete those calls otherwise you will find that you have been signed up for all sorts of extra services that you didn’t want or know about. Like special chimes, music etc.

Responses from a few well-informed friends:

* As a general rule, any e-mail that asks you to “pass this on to as many people as you can”, particularly if it is in block caps, is almost certainly a hoax. All it does is jam up the bandwidth for everyone else.

Hoax e-mailers also seem to love to put the subject of their e-mail in BLOCK CAPS, presumably on the theory that it makes it look more important. It doesn’t. All it does is seem as if the sender is shouting.

* The “do not call” web address is real. But the rest of this email is a variation of an email HOAX, which has been doing the rounds for months.
