Judaism And Idolatry

I am Jew, right? For over 4000 years we have been in the minority. When other
cultures asked how could we be right when we worship an invisible G-d when the
rest of the world worshipped trees and beetles, we said we knew we were right
because it made more sense.

There is a wonderful story of Abraham when he was a young boy and was left to
look after his father’s shop whilst his dad, Terach, was out on business. Now
Terach sold idols. Abraham took a hammer and smashed them all except one in whose
hand he placed the hammer. When Terach came back and beheld the destruction, in
shock he asked Abraham what happened. Abraham said all the idols got into a fight
and only one was left standing. Terach said this was impossible as idols are only
made of clay. Abraham then asked, using his boyish logic, how could his father
worship idols made of clay?

So here we are, still Jewish and still saying that the rest of the world is
wrong, and the rest of the world condemning us for it because we speak in terms
of logic, reason and understanding.

So for you to say that your position is right because society agrees with you
does not makes you right. Give me a top-notch marketting man and I’ll change
society’s opinions. What is an indication of whether it is right is if it
endures. Unfortunately for you, no society that accepted moral turpidity has ever
endured.
