Peace unto you and your household.
There’s a story about a tribe of pygmies who live in the Amazon Rain
Forests and every morning they all wake up at the same time, come out of
their huts and shout out together in their native tongue.
Well one day a group of Christians Evangelists went out on a mission
to spread the Gospel to all nations. They had the Rain Forests on their
evangelizing route. The Christians came upon these pygmies and tried to
tell them that the only way was through Jesus Christ. Since no one in
the Christian group could speak their language, they failed to convert
them. They couldn’t allow themselves to leave this tribe until they
could make them understand about Christ, so they sought out for an
interpreter. Since the tribe was in such a remote area, there was no one
around who could speak their language, but they did locate a man from a
tribe way at the other end of the forest who knew his tribe’s language
and English. They enlisted him to come with them to interpret. Well his
tribes tongue was very different from theirs, yet he told the Christians
that he thought he understood some of their words. They asked him to
decipher what it was they were shouting out every morning. He listened
an told them that he thinks that they are worshipping the sun, because
he heard some of the words to sound like, "Thank you sun…",
but he really wasn’t sure. Well, the Christians had to try to convert
them without a doubt and had the interpreter tell them what they were
doing was wrong and they should only worship the GOD of who they
preached. The interpreter couldn’t seem to make them understand and the
tribe kept waking up every morning and shouting out together. The
Christians got together and decided to leave the forests and deemed the
pygmies pagans; then went off their merry way.
Years later, GOD sends down Jesus Christ to establish His Kingdom on
earth and everyone has to come before the throne of Christ to account
for their lives. The Group of Christians come before the Lord and Jesus
says, "Not in the Book of Life, Next." The Christians are
shocked and plead their case, "We went all around the whole world
spreading the Gospel to all nations, surely there is some mistake?"
Jesus says, "Sorry, but I don’t know you." The Christians
slowly walk down the path leading away from GOD and turn around to get
one last look at Jesus, when they notice the pygmies come up to His
throne and they all shout out together at Jesus. Jesus says,
"Welcome my children, for your names are written in the Book of
Life, enter into my Father’s Kingdom." The Christians freak out and
run up to His throne in protest, "Hey what’s going on here"
These guys are pagans and worship the sun!" Jesus Christ tells
them, "For this reason your names were not found in the Book of
Life, for you have judged, when I commanded you not to and you have
forgotten the simplest of Truths." "WHAT?" The Christians
murmur, "Please Lord explain what you mean." Jesus says,
"I Will let you hear from those who you condemn and He calls the
tribe back to His throne. Of course they all shout out together again,
but this time Jesus has allowed the Christians to understand their
language and this is what they said: "Thank You, Oh Great GOD for
this life You have given us, may we live this day to honor Your Son who
gave us the Great Spirit for our comfort, amen."
The end.
Peace.
