Rowland,
Only God knows the intentions of the heart and I can only form views based on my interpretation of your posts. <> I haven’t seen evidence on your site of any information on other religions except through Christian eyes. That is your prerogative, but I certainly couldn’t find anything from an “islamic mindset”, as you claim below.
To which I responded:
It is a Christian site, certainly.
But I would challenge you to look more carefully. Note the balance of articles pro and con the Israeli/Jewish and Palestinian points of view, for example… I’d be interested to read a website published by an Islamic organization which presents both the Jewish and Palestinian points of view. Can you help me find one? Just one?
You are an exception, my friend. I have been willing to put ‘balanced’ Islamist articles on the site, but I haven’t come across too many.
Reading widely and across many points of view, my view is that the _balance_ of terror is more to be laid at the feet of Islamists; and that Muslim national and religious leaders have been significantly muted in their condemnation of Islamic terrorist murders over the past 20 years or so… Certainly people who call themselves ‘Christian’ have also retaliated – and maybe initiated violence against Muslims sometimes, but my hunch is that the ratio of Muslims-to-Christians killed in communal violence in various corners of Indonesia, the Sudan and other Muslim-majority nations is at least 20-to-1.
Of course, 1,000 years ago, in the times of the Crusades the balance was the other way around. And Arabs in particular, have long memories about all that…
Some articles for consideration:
In http://jmm.org.au/articles/2586.htm I made a statement: ‘What fanatical Islam is doing to Christians is akin to what fanatical Christians did to the ‘Infidel Turks’ in the Crusades 1,000 years ago. Back further in history, it’s also what the Israelites did to the inhabitants of Canaan: ‘When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn or imitate the detestable ways of the peoples there… Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out these nations before you’ (Deuteronomy 18:9,12).
