Sexual Abuse

I decided to share this with the group, for insight and comment.

This lady (who wishes to remain anonymous) is a member of a Baptist church…

About 9 years ago I discovered one of the most shocking things that a mother could know….that her beautiful, only daughter had been a victim of childhood sexual abuse….

One response:

A few years back I picked up a book by Charles H. Kraft, called “Deep Wounds, Deep Healing.” l have loaned it to a couple whose daughters were both abused by a church youth leader who had several victms over a long period of time.

I can’t recall the publisher’s name, but it should be still in stock at Keswick. Kraft introduces with his fury at sitting in church, hearing a half-baked sermon on Phil 3:13-14 which shut down all access to abuse victims, because they should let it all go and press on. He very compactly and readably addresses personal pain, without playing psychological and spiritual aspects against each other. It may throw some light on our ministry when this ugliness appears.

God’s blessing on all.
