When you became a Christian, you not only became a friend of God

but you became a member of God’s family, and like your own

family, you have no choice about your brothers and sisters, and so it

is in the family of God – the church.

If I had been put in charge of picking the members of the church I

attend, I would not have picked all of them, and I am sure that they

certainly wouldn’t have picked me! However, the more I meet with

them and see what God is doing in them and with them, the more I

have grown to appreciate them and to marvel at how really great

God is.
