Country Perspective
An out-of towner drove his car into a ditch in a desolated area. He got out
and worriedly looked up and down the road. After a while, a farmer came to help
with his big strong horse named “Buddy” and offered to help get the car out of
the ditch.
The farmer hitched Buddy up to the car and yelled, “Pull, Nellie, pull!”
Buddy didn’t move.
Then the farmer hollered, “Pull, Buster, pull!”
Buddy didn’t respond.
Once more the farmer commanded, Pull, Coco, pull!”
Nothing.
Finally the farmer nonchalantly said, “Pull, Buddy, pull!”
And then the horse easily dragged the car out of the ditch.
The motorist was most appreciative and very curious. He asked the farmer why
he called his horse by the wrong name three times.
The farmer explained, “Oh, Buddy is blind, and if he thought he was the only
one pulling, he wouldn’t even try!”
Address Correction
Mr.. Johnson, a businessman from Wisconsin, went on a business trip to
Louisiana. Knowing how worried his wife was when he traveled, he immediately
sent an e-mail back to his wife, Jean.
Unfortunately, he mistyped a letter, and the e-mail ended up going to a Mrs..
Joan Johnson, the wife of a preacher who had just passed away.
The preacher’s wife took one look at the e-mail and promptly fainted.
When she was finally revived, she nervously pointed to the message, which
read: “Arrived safely, but it sure is hot here!”
