Today (November 15, 1998) is the Sunday we pray for the world’s 200
million Christians (yes) who face persecution.

Did you know:

# More Christians have been martyred in this century than all
previous centuries combined?

# This century has witnessed 120 million Christians martyred for
Christ?

# More have died for their faith in Christ than in all the major
wars of this century?

# Total incidents of persecution have increased since the fall of
communism in Eastern Europe and the old Soviet Union?

Why? Lots of reasons (you might like to suggest some).

Here’s one: In 1960 70% of the world’s Evangelical Christians lived
in ‘Free’ Western countries. Thirty years later, in 1990, 70% lived in
the Two-thirds world.

Let us remember them…

‘Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with
them; those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being
tortured’ (Hebrews 13:3).
