Christmas eve was a hectic day. The little girl was so excited she could hardly contain herself. Her father was worried with bundles and burdens. Mom’s nerves reached the breaking point more than once as she tried to make sure everything was cooked, wrapped, cleaned and set. The little girl seemed to be in the way no matter where she went. Finally, she was hustled off to bed. As she knelt and said her bedtime prayers, the excitement and confusion of the day mixed her up a bit. As usual, she ended her prayers with the Lord’s Prayer, only this time she was heard to say, “Forgive us our Christmases, as we forgive those who Christmas against us.”
