One Day At The Market

A boy and his father were shopping in the market one day.

The little boy was bored, and playing a game flipping a coin into the air and then catching it with his teeth.

Suddenly, the boy caught the coin at the wrong moment and the coin dropped into his mouth and lodged in his throat. The boy started to choke and cough, and his father grabbed him and started calling for help!

A middle-aged man nearby heard the commotion, pushed his grocery cart aside, straightened his tie, and made his way over to the boy and his father.

“Excuse me, sir,” the man said. He reached down to the choking boy, carefully took hold of the kid, and squeezed him firmly around the chest. After a few seconds, the boy coughed loudly and the coin popped right out! The man released the boy, pocketed the coin with a smile, and headed back over to his cart.

The relieved father made sure his son was all right, then walked over to the man and thanked him profusely for saving his son’s life. “I’ve never seen anyone do that,” he said. “Are you a surgeon?”

“Oh, heavens, no,” replied the man. “I work for the IRS.”
