Is It True? (More)

A phew small additions:

Mosquito repellents don’t repel. They hide you. The spray blocks the mosquito’s sensors so they don’t know you’re there. I’m getting old. I don’t know I’m there either sometimes.

Dentists have recommended that a toothbrush be kept at least 6 feet away from a toilet to avoid airborne particles resulting from the flush. Same ones who said that germs can make their way through 42 layers of toilet paper? Since when can bacteria count??

The liquid inside young coconuts can be used as substitute for blood plasma. Not for long. Coconuts are quite high in cholesterol.

Donkeys kill more people annually than plane crashes. Odd. I’ve never seen anyone hit by a falling donkey.

You burn more calories sleeping than you do watching television. It’s because your brain is re-programming itself while you’re asleep. While you’re watching TV it’s doing absolutely nothing!

The first product to have a bar code was Wrigley’s gum. They wrote an opera about it. Wriggoletto.

Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning. . . . especially if you’re sleeping under an apple tree!

The plastic things on the end of shoelaces are called aglets. True, but if they’re wild they’re called ferrules.

The first owner of the Marlboro Company died of lung cancer. Sadly, so did most of the cowboy types in the adverts. They were the highest tar cigs in the world. Large numbers of the company’s employees died too. There was a documentary about it on BBC TV years ago.

All US Presidents have worn glasses. Can’t they afford new ones?

Some just didn’t like being seen wearing them in public. Are the many absurdly strained very deep voices of many US politicians, industrialists, presenters etc. false too?

Walt Disney was afraid of mice. He was afraid to draw Mickey. He had to be given lessons! Dozens of Mickies turned up a good few years before Disney and Tugboat Willie in a cartoon set in the Antarctic with penguins. BTW, Tugboat Willie is quite a painful disease!

The three most valuable brand names on earth: Marlboro, Coca-Cola, and Budweiser, in that order. And the Czech Budweiser tastes so much better that the US brewer wanted to buy the company and close it!!

It is possible to lead a cow upstairs…but not downstairs. Downstairs you have to push – butt from a distance. They get scared!

Turtles can breathe through their butts. Keep clear of their nostrils when they’ve had beans then!

On average, 100 people choke to death on ball-point pens every year. Used to be many more and sadly, it was mostly small children. Here in the UK, it was campaigning by a TV programme and it’s presenter, Esther Rantzen, which was responsible for pen manufacturers putting holes or slots in the end of pen caps to stop this happening.

On average people fear spiders more than they do death. Must be some funny people about – but not for long.

Elephants are the only animals that can’t jump. They can – otherwise there’d be no more elephants!

It’s physically impossible for you to lick your elbow. Or Uranus – even through a telescope!.

The electric chair was invented by a dentist. The old electromechanical automatic telephone exchange system was invented by an undertaker/funeral director whose customers were being diverted to his competitor by the competitor’s wife who worked the local switchboard! And we only got rid of the system about ten years ago. Was he a genius or what? Do a Google on the name Strowger.

All polar bears are left handed. All bipolar bears are ambidextrous!

In ancient Egypt, priests plucked EVERY hair from their bodies, including their eyebrows and eyelashes. Can’t get much cilia than that!

“Go,” is the shortest complete sentence in the English language. In Latin, it’s the silliest and attracts mice: “Ee!”

A crocodile cannot stick its tongue out. It doesn’t have to bother insulting its enemies – it just eats them.

The cigarette lighter was invented before the match. Yeah! By a British comedian called Tommy Tinder.

Almost everyone who reads this email will try to lick their elbow. Your right! I did!!! Could have been worse I suppose! (^!^)

Manny thanks for cheering me up!

Remember: To a Manic Depressive, the light at the end of the tunnel is the headlight of an oncoming train!
