Tigger, I suggest you look up a group of experiments called the
'Prisoner's Dilemma'.

Therein you will find that co-operation is the best survival strategy of
them all.

'survival of the fittest' as you seem to understand it would make sharks
and Driver Ants the dominant species of the planet, with us as a food
stuff. The fact that they are not should indicate to you that where it
comes to survival, there is more than one way to skin a rabbit.

Aside from that, if you are prepared to run with a 'survival of the
fittest' system as you see it to be, know that it also 'legalizes' your
foul murder for what is in your fridge. In other words, a 3rd world country
would be fully justified in taking from you or anyone else what it needed -
it is all survival of the fittest. And should any of them get nuclear
weapons ?

So, as I say - co-operation is not only the best strategy, but for us with
the capacity to destroy the biosphere, the only strategy.
