As a gentle and relevant prompt re giving I have encouraged people to consider giving the $4 tax “gift” (the Australian government has recently forcast) as an increase in their offering. I have presented this on the basis that everyone says it is an insignificant amount -and it will not change our lifestyle to any degree – but if 100 of us increase our giving by this $4 per week it will amount to about $20,000 per annum. That amount can make a significant difference to the effectiveness of the Church.

There has been some positive response to this suggestion. It has caught some people’s imagination and put giving back on the agenda.
