From a netfriend (pastor):
I was once told by a church member… “I pay your wages so I can tell you what to do.”
I, gently, explained that I wasn’t salaried but on a stipend.
I thanked her for her gifts that freed me from the need to work and said that I used that freedom to develop ministry as the congregation saw fit.
I don’t think that she really understood a word that I said.
