Providence Of God 1

A ‘Net friend wrote: …..

Ever since the first man crawled out of a cave, scratched his head, and looked
at the sky, man has been on a constant, unquenchable, quest for knowledge.

Consider our lot now compared to that of 100 years ago, or 100 years before
that. I can now just take a few pills, a or have an operation, that will cure
me of a illness that would have killed me earlier this century.

Its been 2000 years since the birth of Christ. I cannot even begin to imagine
what life will be like 2000 years from now.

One thing is certain, mankind will have advanced beyond our wildest dreams,
and the Church will most likely have crumbled into the dust. The power of the
Church has diminished over the centuries in direct proportion to the gain in
mans knowledge. It continues to prove its increasing irrelevance as it constantly
changes and modifies its practices, doctrines, and beliefs to conform to those
that are being developed by society, – in a vain attempt to prove its relevance!

Women are liberated, so now we have female clergy. Gays are
liberated, so now the Church says it’s ok to be gay, and so on.
In reality mankind is advancing without the help of the Church,
and will continue to do so. The Church is always one step behind.

Right on! I have attempted to find christians prepared to debate
the topic:

“That all human progress has come inspite of, not because
of, religion.”

No takers.

Maybe your note will prompt a few intelligent responses on this
theme.
