And my two cents’ worth is that Raymond Brown and others have suggested there are at least seven (or is it nine?) major versions _in the New Testament_ of what it means ‘to follow Jesus’…

Yesterday I preached on Pentecost, and suggested that if we ask Paul and Luke to tell us what the Holy Spirit is all about, essentially, we’d get two different (but in my view not inconsistent) answers…

Which leads me to be a little gentler these days with people who relate to God-the-Father-of-Jesus differently than I do. (When I was younger I knew more than I know now 🙂
