David Pawson, a man you may know, has caused a stir by saying that God has given him a prophesy that the UK will turn to Islam, as part of God’s judgement on the UK church. There are days when I believe it. (However, Pawson also had a prophesy many years ago that it was never going to snow in England again!). However, he does offer a critique of the UK church that shows its all-too-obvious weaknesses and shows how Islam offers an alternative. My own view is that the UK will go increasingly superstitious, with Islam probably being the largest reognised ‘official’ religion – unless God sends revival!
