Lord, my company is merging with another. Our head office will move to a different city.
It makes sense from a business point of view,
But we are human.
And I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
I’m over the stun now – mostly,
And my principal emotion is nostalgia.
Friends and colleagues across the world
I’ll never see again.
Some I’ve known for 20 years.
A greeting is a bit cold on E-mail.
How do you want me to handle this?
“My son, look forward not back.
The very reason you are alive
Is that I have a plan for you, [1]
Projects to complete, goals to reach.
Think about who you are really working for.
I will bring a solution that you can not presently imagine,
And another, and another,
And on into eternity.
And I will fill your cup until it runs over.” [2]
Thank you Lord.
I’m speechless with wonder
And I worship you.
